A story of love, light and design

Shadow Heart is a sterling silver necklace that casts a heart-shaped shadow under directional light. Its sculptural form carries only part of the story. Light and the person wearing it bring the design to life.

The one-minute film explores how that idea became a piece of jewelry.

a connection made visible

Jewelry often holds meaning beyond its material. A necklace can recall a person, mark a shared moment, or carry a connection across distance. Its significance grows through the life of the person wearing it.

Shadow Heart began with a question: how could a piece of jewelry express the presence of someone loved, even when that person is far away?

The heart offered a familiar language for that connection. The design challenge was to find a sculptural form that could reveal it through light and shadow.

discovering the form

The development moved between three-dimensional objects and the two-dimensional shadows they cast. Each prototype became a study in proportion, curvature and the passage of light.

The pendant needed to work as a small sculpture in its own right, while allowing a recognizable heart to appear in its shadow. Exploring those relationships shaped both its silhouette and the space within it.

The process extended beyond the pendant itself. The wearer’s skin becomes the surface on which the heart appears, bringing the object and its meaning into a personal relationship.

completed by the wearer

Under directional light, the sculptural silver pendant reveals its heart-shaped shadow. As the light or wearer moves, the heart changes, then quietly disappears.

That fleeting appearance carries the central idea of Shadow Heart: a connection can remain even when it cannot be seen.

The design comes to life through light, the object, and the person wearing it. Together, they turn a familiar symbol into a moment of discovery.

something personal to carry

Given to someone close or chosen for oneself, Shadow Heart leaves room for individual meaning—a relationship, a memory, or a quiet reminder of someone who matters.

A heart appears, then quietly disappears.

Love is invisible. But ever present.
